ThermiRase™ Sarasota

ThermiRase is a minimally invasive, non-neurotoxin treatment for glabellar frown lines.

Glabellar furrows (aka “eleven lines”) are dynamic skin folds caused by frequent movement of the underlying muscles. While neuromodulators (e.g. Botox Cosmetic) can inhibit the transmission of signals from the nerves to the muscles, the effect is temporary and the treatment must be repeated to maintain the desired results.

What is ThermiRase?

ThermiRase uses a radiofrequency (RF) device that is FDA-approved for nerve ablation. This minimally invasive procedure uses radiofrequency-generated heat to target and inactive the nerves (nerve ablation) that activate muscles that cause frown lines.

ThermiRase offers several benefits over alternative wrinkle treatments and fillers. Benefits include:

  • Long-lasting results with one treatment. Results last (1-2 years) with one treatment.
  • No downtime
  • No known side effects
  • Immediate results
  • Targeted therapy for a natural and relaxed appearance

ThermiRase Procedure

ThermiRase treatments begin by mapping out the nerve with an external nerve stimulator. A small radiofrequency needle is then placed beneath the skin, and the nerve location is confirmed with low energy stimulation. After the location of the nerve is confirmed, radiofrequency is delivered to heat the tissue specific temperature to disrupt function of the nerve. Local anesthesia is used during the procedure to minimize discomfort.

Studies have found that 85% of patients treated with ThermiRase maintain results for at least two years and have insufficient muscle movement to require another treatment or Botox Cosmetic injections.

Are You a Candidate?

Patients with frown lines between the eyes that make them appear stressed or angry may be good candidates for this procedure. Patients who do not respond to neurodulator treatment (e.g. Botox Cosmetic) may be excellent candidates, as well as those who want a longer-lasting and natural alternative to Botox Cosmetic injections.
